Torvek provides engineering, design, and project management services throughout New Zealand and Australia, delivering smart solutions, successful projects, and outstanding outcomes for our clients and end users alike.
Advisory Services
Independent of any single product or supply chain - recommendations driven by expertise and fit-for-purpose advice, not product-led sales agendas. Reduces overall project risk by ensuring decisions are guided by experience.
Structural Design & Certification
Steel, aluminium, timber, concrete and FRP across industrial, residential, midrise, commercial, recreation, transport and material handling sectors. Concept through detailed design - including prefabricated risers, plantrooms, skids, modular buildings, conveyor and equipment support frames, pedestrian bridges and lightweight airlift designs.
Aluminium Engineering
Specialist aluminium engineering to AS/NZS 1664.1 and EN 1999 (Eurocode 9) - bespoke extrusion design, fatigue and FEA, weld design and HAZ assessment. Engineering and certification where standard sections, off-the-shelf systems or generalist designs don't perform.
Seismic Engineering
Building seismic design to NZS 1170.5 and AS 1170.4. Restraint of non-structural elements - HVAC, services, ceilings, pipework - to NZS 4219. Seismic design and bracing of partition walls, suspended ceilings, prefabricated plantroom and riser frames, mechanical/electrical/hydraulic services, and plant equipment.
Plant, Process & Machinery Design
Plant 3D modelling, 2D layouts, P&IDs, piping isometrics, equipment supports and bespoke machinery from concept to fabrication. FEA, fatigue and dynamic analysis where the load path demands it.
Forensic & Remedial Engineering
Investigation and assessment of distressed, damaged or non-compliant structures. Joint engineer reviews, remediation design and concept strengthening to extend asset working life. Post-disaster condition assessments and dilapidation surveys focused on reliability and life extension.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Advanced FEA for design and verification of complex structural elements, equipment supports and connection nodes. Specialist analysis of locally damaged infrastructure and high-stress components where empirical methods are insufficient.
Project Management
A high-performance team delivering maximum project efficiency without corporate overhead. Engineering, design and project management as a unified workflow - eliminating communication gaps and accelerating delivery. Full delivery support including procurement, supply chain, and installation coordination.

We don't just manage processes. We optimise designs and execute complex projects with precision, from concept through completion.
Independent & defensible
Findings backed by calculation and code, not assertion - written from the start to withstand scrutiny.
First-principles, not templates
Every connection, bracing scheme and analysis traced back to the governing standard and the actual demand.
Cross-jurisdictional fluency
Working command of both AS and NZS frameworks - the difference matters, and we hold both at once.
Buildable outcomes
Engineering that can be constructed, coordinated, and certified. From analysis to a deliverable a contractor can use.
Torvek is a trans-Tasman engineering and design consultancy founded by four directors with combined experience across engineering, design, project management, procurement, fabrication and installation. We keep the firm lean on purpose - clients work directly with senior people doing the engineering.
